About Nordkapp

Our studio was founded in 2007 with the vision of creating the best workplace, dedicated to working on the most interesting and relevant projects. That mindset still leads us today. We are a collective of about 20 designers and visionaries who value curiosity over repetition, quality over quantity, and take pride in being honest with ourselves and our surroundings. Nudging the world towards the better, together. We are not a family, but a tribe with a common purpose.

Our designers are individuals with varying backgrounds, and our roles are shaped accordingly. We take professional growth very seriously and make sure you have the freedom and responsibility to become the designer and a design leader you want to be.

In our core are two things: strategic design and experiences.  

There is no lack of vision or strategies in the world today, but they are near impossible to thrive without common
understanding or shared direction. Between the master visions and specific operational activities are an important middle ground. Nordkapp Strategic Design is the glue that ties these various layers together. We facilitate, clarify and communicate what to do and where to go next.

We are looking for experienced Strategists / Strategic Designers to join our team:

Core skills

Strategic Thinking:

• Systems thinking - understanding how different parts of an organization or ecosystem interact.

• Business acumen - grasp business models, market dynamics, and organizational constraints.

• Future-oriented thinking - scenario planning and anticipating emerging trends.

Service design / Business Design & Research Foundation:

• Strong design thinking, service design and human-centered design methodologies.

• Qualitative and/or quantitative research skills. Research needs to uncover insights, not just validate assumptions.

• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear frameworks and narratives.

Communication & Facilitation:

• Excellent storytelling abilities to make complex strategies tangible and compelling.

• Workshop facilitation skills to guide stakeholders through strategic processes.

• Visual communication - translating abstract concepts into diagrams, journey maps, service blueprints.

Collaboration & Influence:

• Stakeholder management across different levels of seniority.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and navigating organizational politics.

• Ability to build consensus and drive alignment around strategic direction.

Practical Application:

• Translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and principles.

• Understanding of implementation constraints.

Extra:

• AI and understanding technology.

• Expertise in data visualisation and/or information graphics.

• Qualifications or deep interest in human behaviour and/or social sciences (eg ethnography, anthropology or psychology).

• Experience working with strategic foresight and consumer insight.

• A cross-discipline education and experience working with multidisciplinary industry setting is not must but absolute bonus.

Requirements:

• Appropriate education.

• Fluency in English, working knowledge of Finnish. Other languages are a bonus.

• At minimum 5 years of experience working with corporate clients either as a consultant, advisor or an in-house specialist.
